This Saturday the Blues take on Conference National League side Cambridge United in the FA Trophy 1st round. A large crowd is expected at New Lodge so why not stroll down early and take advantage of the reduced pint price?! Between 12 and 2pm the price of a pint will be reduced to just £2.30 on all tap lager/beer/cider. The clubhouse opens at 12 with Sunderland v West Brom live on the TV.

The Blues lost for the first time in 5 league games in a game closer than the scoreline suggests. Dover took the lead on 9 minutes when Barry Cogan scored straight from a corner. They doubled their lead on 17 minutes when Luke Bartlett mis-kicked a unforgiving Dave Collis back-pass allowing former Blue Billy Bricknell to score. Craig Edwards put the Blues back in the game when he bundled the ball over on 37 minutes. Any thoughts of a comeback were dampened when the hosts scored two in quick succession on 51 and 53 minutes. Firstly a fine goal from Huke was followed by Bricknell's second when his shot squirmed underneath Bartlett. The Blues battled til the end and only some resolute Dover defending and fine keeping denied the Blues a fairer share of the spoils.

After recording their second away win of the season at Bromley on Saturday, The Blues hit the road to Kent again on Tuesday evening when they travel to Dover Athletic.

Jay May’s first half header was enough for the Blues to return to Essex with all three points at the weekend and boss Craig Edwards will have been delighted that his side also recorded their second clean sheet in the last three games.

Edwards is pleased to report a full and fit squad for the game which comes as a prelude to this Saturday’s eagerly anticipated FA Trophy tie with Cambridge Utd.

Billericay Town Ladies beat Runwell & Rayleigh Ladies 6-0 in the Essex County Cup 2nd Round. Meanwhile the Under 13's were also in winning mode when they defeated Beacon Hill 1-0.
