The Blues get their pre-season campaign underway with a comfortable victory at Great Wakering.
New signing Jay May opened the scoring in a first half dominated by the Blues when he dispossed the home keeper for a simple tap-in. The scoreline should have been more favourable to the Blues before the half time whistle blew with numerous chances going begging. The second half started with a completely different XI and Wakering drew level after some slack marking. But the Blues were always in control of the game and Tony Martin smashed home from outside the box to put the Blues back in front. He then secured his brace with a superbly taken finish after some great possession/passing football. The game was wrapped up near the end when a smart finish gave the Blues a deserved victory.
