Jay May scored his 4th goal of the season as Billericay notched up an impressive away victory at much fancied Carshalton Athletic.
Boss Craig Edwards started with just the one change from the side that beat Kingstonian a week ago, Harrison Chatting replacing the injured Sam Berry. The Blues started the better of the two sides forcing a succession of corners during the half. Both Rob Swaine and Jay May went close but it was Harrison Chattings long range pile-driver that was pushed round the post by the home keeper that saw the Blues best chance. At the other end Nicky Morgan parried a shot into the path of Paul Vines who squandered his chance from close range. The Blues first half dominance was replaced by Carshalton dominance at the start of the second period and it was the home side that forced Nicky Morgan into a couple of smart saves from Laurent Hamici and Dean McDonald. With 10 minutes remaining, a pin-point Junior Luke cross found the head of Jay May who superbly finished to score his 4th goal in 5 games. Despite a late flurry from the home side, the Blues held on comfortably for the three points and a second successive clean sheet. The Blues now entertain Concord Rangers at New Lodge this Tuesday (13th) looking again to continue their good start. Kick-off is 7:45PM.
