An X-ray has found that Ian Wiles sustained a depressed fracture of the skull from a collision during the game versus Tooting & Mitcham last week. He is due to see a surgeon next week to ascertain the next steps.
Brian Statham said "It’s very disappointing news for Ian. His form has been excellent as his partnership with Greg Oates has grown in stature. I know Ian is very disappointed as he was enjoying his football, but the most important thing above all else is his health."
Everyone at the Club would like to wish Ian a full and speedy recovery.
Town hoping for the luck of the cup in front of goal
Match preview by Paul Jennings.
Blues Boss Brian Statham will be hoping that a change of competition will bring a change of fortune in front of goal when his side travel to AFC Hornchurch in the FA Cup 1st Qualifying round on Saturday.
Town's indifferent start to the season has seen them score just four goals and the Blues boss knows that with the winners of the tie earning £3,000 there is no better time to start converting their chances. With no major injuries or unavailability to report, Town have a full squad to select from.
Sunday 6th September 2009. Kick off 10:30. Friendly.
Match report by Paul Moody & John Mifsud.
This year's young Blues crops travelled to the pride of Suffolk’s EJA League side Halstead Town in a well contested friendly which gave both sides a run out prior to Wednesday's FA youth Cup ties.
Billericay face a tough test in the league tomorrow when high-flying Tooting & Mitcham United are the visitors to New Lodge. The Terrors currently sit second in the table, and Billy Smith's men have won all three of their away games so far this season.
Billericay Town Reserves 3-2 Biggleswade Town Reserves Capital League
Even on an evening that the heavens decided to give the New Lodge pitch a good watering, both sides still went out and played some lovely entertaining football with no shortage of end to end action.
