I’m delighted to formally announce that the future of our club has been settled and I could not be happier with the outcome. Grant Gordon has stepped in and he has done this for all the right reasons. He will take control by purchasing 60% of my shares.

There had been other offers and there were still one or two parties showing an interest, but to be honest, I wasn’t entirely comfortable with the other options because I had promised that I will always do what’s right for the club.

I have known Grant for many years now and I can assure all of you that he has always favoured our club no matter where he’s been, he’s always yearned to be involved at Billericay. I have no doubt whatsoever that Grant is the right person for Billericay Town Football Club. And because I will still be a significant shareholder, I’m afraid you lot will have to continue to put up with Sharon and myself for the foreseeable future!

Grant has no intentions of changing the set-up of our club, so we will continue to be one big community which includes the Colt’s and Ladies sections.
