Blues head to Hastings aiming to stay top of the pile Luke and Collis return to Squad By Paul Jennings
The Blues make the long trip to Hastings this Saturday in their quest to remain top of the Ryman Premier League.
With Blues boss Craig Edwards reporting his squad to be in very good spirits, he knows the importance of a return to winning ways on the road. The Blues have failed to win on the road in 4 games with their last victory coming in the impressive victory at Cray Wanderers at the end of November.
Junior Luke and Dave Collis return from suspension for the visit to Pilot Field. However, Neil Cousins misses out with an injury picked up in last Saturday’s victory over Wingate & Finchley at New Lodge.
Hastings currently sit just above the relegation zone in 18th place. The U’s underwent a change of management just before Christmas with Sean Ray taking over the hot seat as Player Manager. The change in management had an immediate desired effect, however their results have somewhat slipped recently with a defeat at Leatherhead last Saturday in their last game

By car: Take the M25 to Junction 5 and head towards Hastings (A21). Approaching Hastings, go straight ahead at two mini roundabouts and turn left at the third onto the A2101 St Helens Road (The Pilot Field is signposted at this point). After a mile and a quarter, take the fifth turning on the left into St Helens Park Road, which leads into Downs Road. At the end of the road, turn left and the ground is immediately on your right. Please note that there is no spectator parking available within the ground itself, but there are plenty of roads within close walking distance that have no parking restrictions. Please be sure to park legally though, as traffic wardens are known to patrol the area on matchdays.
By train: There is a frequent service to Hastings from London. Please check www.nationalrail.co.uk for times.
