Billericay had a slow start to the game and were lucky not to be behind within 10 minutes, Brentwood’s centre forward broke through Billericay’s defence but her final shot was off target, Billericay then found their rhythm and had Brentwood pinned into their own half for the remainder of the first half but were unable to make the possession count, too many touches on the ball and not finding the killer pass ball ensured the score remained 0-0 at half time.

Second half saw Billericay slide into their old ways, lack lustre and uncreative. This gave Brentwood an opportunity to get  back into the game causing Billericay problems on the counter attack. Brentwood’s goal came from an error made on the right wing, the ball was switched which caught Billericay players out of position, the Brentwood player was first to react and slotted the ball into the far left hand corner.
Billericay made substitions to inject some pressure, Hayley Spallin came closest when her shot fired just wide of the post on approx 85th minute. Fair play to Brentwood, they appeared to want the game more.

Kim Coster quoted after the game, what a strange 90 minutes,  we just didn’t get the luck of the green today and if the performance is under par you need that type of luck, hilarious the match ball spent more time off the field then on which stopped both teams play from flowing, but that’s football and you take the good with the bad, both teams are in action this weekend, Ladies Blues away to Leighton Linslade in the League and the Reds at home against Shrimper’s Zone at New Lodge 2pm KO.
