Billericay Town Ladies secure an important 3 points against Hoddesdon Owls at Hertford FC.

This was not one of the ladies best performances but to gain all 3 points is important to the ladies season.

A delayed KO didn’t fare well for both teams as players were standing around in the cold awaiting a cup game to be decided. The game started 20 minutes late and Billericay were battling against a defensive formation of 10 Hoddesdon players camped in their own half. Billericay had a number of chances cleared off the line and numerous shots not on target, Hoddesdon did well to keep the score line at 0-0
 
Second half saw Hayley Spallin replace injured Sophie Whiting on the wing. Billericay changed the formation with Lisa Silverton replacing Jo Ribet and the change had an immediate impact with the pace of the game increasing, creating more space. On the 57th minute Rebecca Allen broke through Hoddesdon's midfield and her clinical pass through to Lisa Silverton saw her beat 2 defenders and slot the ball past the keeper. Within 2 minutes good play down the left wing by Sarah Bovington saw her infield pass to debutant Kelly Stock who made no mistake of smashing the ball home in the 59th minute.

Vanessa Wilson then replaced injured Leanne Wood and Billericay started to play the ball around on a heavy pitch. Billericay’s third goal was created by Hayley Spallin who used the channel well, her infield pass to Kerry Oldham was controlled and placed wide of the keeper. Hoddeson managed to clear 3 further chances off the line.

Kim Coster stated after the game; "Albeit a compliment to Billericay, the style of Hoddesdons play stopped the game flowing which appeared to frustrate their own players as well. Even the referee seemed to be bored and lost concentration in the game and blew the whistle earlier than 90 minutes.
