Brentford C.S.T. U18s 0-1 Billericay Town U18s Eastern Junior Alliance Challenge Cup, 3rd Round Sunday 24th January, K.O. 14:00 Match report by John Mifsud Defending U18 Challenge Cup holders Billericay Town just can't seem to get off the M25 these days, with yet another long trip taking them to the edge of the moon and back, playing humble guests to Brentford CST.
This long awaited fixture ended with the Blues progressing through to the next round with more ease than the score line suggests and to be awarded yet another away tie (of course) this time to East Thurrock. What was nice to see about this game was the introduction of a couple of the U16s coming through into Paul Moody U18s fold which is a follow up to some of the U15s breaking into Rob Hardy's U16s Squad. A game plan which is beginning to show some good signs of the seeds that were sow early on in the season are now beginning to bear fruit. This tie was won late in the game when striker Mike Marsh netted from a Mark Laing cross in the 80th min. Team: Lewis Lockyer, Kane Branson, Ricky Brown, Billy Radley, Bradley Hooper, Mark Laing, Paul Ashman, Tom Deval, Mike Marsh, Alex Kent Jay Smith, Robert Field, James O'Brian, Paul Addison. |
