Dear Every Fan of Billericay Town FC
Thank you very much for the exceptional and humbling support last night for our match against Dulwich. The record crowd on a Tuesday night really were inspirational for myself and the players and I am truly sorry that the performance on the pitch did not do justice to your faith in us.
I’d like to make it very clear that I take full responsibility for the defeat as managing the mind-set of my players is the single most important role I have within the club. Following on from Saturday’s exceptional performance I allowed an element of complacency to filter through the team and as a result we were under-prepared for the game last night. It brought tears to my eyes in the dressing room after the game because I knew that not only had I let my players down but I had also let every one of the Billericay Town supporters who attended the game down as well.
I would also like to thank Dulwich Hamlet FC for their performance last night. It was a great insight to myself and all the players as to the standard required to advance from this league. Following a difficult defeat at home on Saturday they responded in exceptional fashion and have taught us a valuable lesson which will galvanize us further as a team. Well played gentlemen and thank you.
I can absolutely assure you that I have total faith in the players we have. I truly believe we have a squad that can take this club forwards into the playoffs and beyond and I can absolutely assure each and every one of you that one of my teams will never enter the field of play again as under-prepared as they were last night.
As a gesture from myself in my capacity as the owner and the club’s chairman and directors I would like to offer half price tickets to all fans for the game on Saturday against Leiston. I sincerely hope that you will extend to us the faith you showed last night and turn up again in your numbers and in return please be assured that myself and my team are striving to repay your faith by what we do on the pitch.
My Sincere Apologies
