Tuesday night’s fixture will be the 23rd meeting between the two clubs, and the 11th in cup competitions.
The first meeting between the two clubs took place on 18 December 1979 as New Lodge hosted Braintree & Crittall Athletic for the Second Round of the East Anglian Cup. Fred Clayden scored twice with Steve Philcox and Terry Sharpe adding to the score line in a 4-1 victory.
By the second meeting in 1982 the North Essex club had become Braintree Town. Billericay host another East Anglian Cup match, which The Blues won 5-0. Keith Pope scored twice.
It was the East Anglian Cup again that saw the third fixture between the two clubs. Cressing Road held the match. The score was tied at 2-2 after 90 minutes, Stuart Ingielewicz scored the winner for Billericay.
The most recent cup meeting took place in 2015 as Braintree came to Billericay in the Essex Senior Cup, and left with a 3-1 win.
The last time the two clubs played it took a late winner from Ronnie Henry to separate the sides.
