HISTORY
Originally called Langney Sports the club competed in the Sussex League for nearly 20 years until their promotion to the Southern League. They eventually became Eastbourne Borough for the 2001-02 season.
Borough joined the newly formed Conference South for the 2004-05 season finishing 5th at the first attempt. Three years later they finished as runners-up and were promoted to the National League. Their highest league finish came in their first season at the highest level of non-league football; 13th place.
The Sports have reached the F.A. Cup First Round on four occasions since 2005-06, twice earning replays, but like Billericay Town they have never progressed past this stage.
By 2011 they were back in the Conference South. The following season Borough and Town met for the first time at Priory Lane. Glenn Poole scored a penalty for The Blues but the hosts won the match 2-1. Eastbourne would also win the match at New Lodge.
Since then Town have won the last three meetings with the most recent coming on the opening day of the season. A crowd of 825 visited New Lodge and Jake Robinson scored the only goal of the match in added time for The Blues to start 2019-20 with a win.
