Billericay Town FC are sad to announce the passing of another one of the football family.
Alec Zimbler, who died recently of pneumonia following a period of illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife June and daughters Alison and Beverley.
Alec was a much loved stalwart at the club for over 40 years in a variety of roles and was always helping the club to run smoothly in the background.
During his time at BTFC, he was the Assistant Treasurer to the late Jim Hall and Derek Collyer doing the players wages every Thursday night. He also assisted as a turnstile operator on match days for the various teams associated with the club until recent years when he took over stand duties. He did a really sterling job of looking after travelling and home board members. He will be fondly remembered and missed by us all.
Alec will be cremated with a funeral to scatter the ashes when safe to do so.
From all involved at the club – Rest in peace old friend, you will be certainly be missed but never forgotten.
