CONCACAF Women’s Qualifiers

The congratulations of everyone at Billericay Town were sent to the Caribbean last night as Teni Charles made her international debut for St. Vincent & The Grenadines.

Teni joined the club in 2020, scoring on her debut in a 4-0 win at Cambridge City and was part of the clubs F.A. Cup run to the Third Round that season.

Called up to the squad in March, Teni will have spent 7 months in the Caribbean by the time she leaves for home.

Londoner Teni qualifies for St Vincent & The Grenadines through her parents who both comes from the islands. The Football Federation were alerted to her eligibility in 2020 and was contacted by a scout in 2021. That scout was Julian Charles, former Billericay Town and St. Vincent player.

Vincy hosted British Virgin Islands in a CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying match at Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown, the capital of St Vincent. Lady Heat, as the Women’s Team are known, lead 3-0 at half time and ran out 5-1 winners.

The team travel to Honduras for their next match on Tuesday. Everyone at Billericay Town wishes them the best of luck for the last match in their Qualifying Group.

Teni – we are all very proud of you and look forward to seeing you back at the club.
