Isthmian League Premier Division. Tuesday 28 February 2017.

The Blues make a midweek trip in to London to visit Enfield Town on Tuesday night.

Enfield Town F.C. was formed in 2001 and joined the Essex Senior League. Their first competitive match was at nearby Gardiners Lane, home of Basildon United. Enfield Town won the match, which I witnessed (and wrote the matchday programme).

They were promoted to Isthmian League Premier Division at the end of the 2011-12 season by beating Grays Athletic and Needham Market in the Division 1 North play-offs. This was the season that Billericay Town won the Isthmian Premier and were promoted to the Conference South.

Enfield have won 2 of their last 5 matches, 3 in the last 10. The most recent victory was a 3-1 away win at Worthing. On Saturday they made the long journey in to Suffolk only to be beaten by Lowestoft Town.

The Towners are currently sitting 8th, two places and three points ahead of The Blues.
