This Tuesday The Blues travel to North Essex for their first away fixture of the new season.
This will be the twenty-first meeting between the two teams with the first taking place on Tuesday 18 December 1979 when Braintree & Crittall visited New Lodge for the second round of the East Anglian Cup.
Braintree were members of the Eastern Counties League and would eventually become Braintree Town in 1983. That season Billericay won the Isthmian League Second Division.
Fred Clayden scored twice with Steve Philcox and Terry Sharpe adding to the score line and a 4-1 victory.
The last league meetings came during the 2005-06 season with both clubs being members of the Isthmian League Premier Division. Braintree won the title that season and were promoted in to the Football Conference.
Braintree came to New Lodge on 13 December 2005 and left with a 1-1 draw, with Matt Game scoring for The Blues. The return fixture took place in February 2006. Braintree won the match 2-0.
The last meeting was also at New Lodge. Braintree won the Essex Senior Cup third round match 3-1 with The Blues goal coming off the back of a Braintree defender. Mike Fondop-Talum had a penalty saved just as the final whistle was blown.
Overall Billericay have won 5 of the 20 meetings. Braintree and won 11 with 4 draws. The Blues have scored 32 goals with The Iron scoring 37.
Tickets are priced at £15 for adults, £10 concessions and £5 for Under 18’s.
The Billericay Town Supporters Society are running a coach to this match, leaving Blunts Wall Road at 5:45pm and depart from Braintree straight after the final whistle.
Seats are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for Under 16’s. All Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

There are trains leaving Billericay at 17:17 and 18:02, with a 15-20 wait at Shenfield for the Braintree train.
On the way home there is a train that leaves Braintree at 22:00 and then 22:56, again with a change at Shenfield.
