Jake Robinson

Position: Striker.

Age 31 (23 Oct, 1986) Height 5ft 10in (1.78M)

Previous Club: Hemel Hempstead Born: Brighton

Jake joined BTFC in March 2017 from Hemel Hempstead in a (then) club record £24,000 deal. A prolific 2017/18 campaign saw him score an incredible 57 goals surpassing Leon Gutzmore’s 20 year record of 51 goals in a season. Named BTFC Player of the Year, he was also selected in the Bostik Premier Team of the Season.

With pace in abundance, a fierce shot requiring deceptively little back-lift, and an innate ability to drift into space, Jake can play anywhere across the front-line. Most effective in a central striking role, Jake has an impressive track record of goals. Impeccable from the spot, he is also the regular club penalty taker.

Jake began his career at home-town club, Brighton, making his debut, aged 16, in September 2003. A few weeks later, he became Brighton’s youngest-ever scorer. After 22 goals in 75 starts (& 73 sub appearances) at Brighton, including League One and FA Cup hat-tricks for the club in 2006, he moved on in summer 2009 to League Two Shrewsbury Town. Two seasons with the Shrews, yielded 13 goals from 40 starts. Intriguingly, he was sent on loan to promotion rivals, Torquay United, in January 2011 and was part of the Gulls team that knocked out his parent club at the play-off semi-final stage before losing in the final to Stevenage.

In June 2011, next stop was League Two, Northampton Town, where he spent two years, making 57 appearances. His last game was as an unused substitute in the League Two 2012-13 play-off Final defeat to Bradford City. In the summer of 2013, Jake returned to Brighton to join Whitehawk, making 105 appearances and scoring 37 goals. In 2014-15, he was named Player of the Year, netting 18 League goals, helping the Hawks to a fourth place finish in the Conference South.

In June 2016, he left for National South outfit, Hemel Hempstead where he found the net regularly with 25 League goals in his single season with the Tudors. In summer 2017, Jake joined the BTFC revolution becoming the club record signing.
