Billericay Town attacking midfielder Jayden Robinson insists the squad still believe we can make a late dash into the play-off places.

With three games remaining, the Blues currently sit in sixth place and three points off of fifth-place Horsham who have two games in hand.

Robinson says they are still confident of extending their season.

“I think we still believe we can make the play-offs,” he stated.

“But I think we are more focused on finishing strongly and doing all we can and then seeing where that will leave us come the end of the season.”

Gary McCann’s side have Cheshunt visiting New Lodge today, a side relegated from the Vanarama National League South last season and are still at risk of sealing back-to-back relegations.

Robinson highlights the importance of continuing our three-game winning run.

“It is very important that we keep the form we are in right now until the end of the season,” he said.

“This will give us the best opportunity to get what we wanted from the start of the season and it will just be good to finish the season as strongly as possible.”

The youngster had a spell on loan at Isthmian North Division side Brightlingsea Regent and he returned from his loan stint a few weeks ago, making 12 appearances for Brett Munyard’s side.

Robinson thinks it was a valuable experience.

“Going on loan to Brightlingsea was very important to me to get much-needed minutes,” he explained.

“I enjoyed my time there not just for the minutes, but for the whole experience in general.

“I learned a lot there and it helped me for the return to Billericay.”

Robinson was handed his first contract at New Lodge in the summer and has played on 14 occasions so far this term.

He says his first season in senior football has been an enjoyable experience.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first full season in senior football,” he said.

“I have learnt a lot and I am still learning week by week.”
