Marvel, you’re back at Billericay for another season, what was the main influence in you wanting to stay at New Lodge?

‘The main influence in me renewing my contract was probably the new gaffer. I have a really good relationship with him, I like the way he works, he’s really professional and he knows how to get the best out of players which everyone saw in his short space of time last season. BTFC is also a great club with a lot of potential, so I like the project being built.’

You featured in the vast majority of games last season, how disappointing was it to be relegated in your first spell at the club?

‘It was very disappointing as the players we had were more than good enough to compete in that league so it was a shame for us to go down but hopefully we can bounce back now with the new management and new players.’

What are you hoping to achieve with the Blues next season?

‘I’m hoping to achieve promotion! I think that must be the target going forward so it’s up to us as players to achieve it.’

What are your long-term ambitions for your football career?

‘I want to still play as high as possible and move up the leagues but I also want to improve as a player which is what I feel I can do here with this setup.’
