Billericay Town v Worthing

Billericay Town will be hoping to play their first home match since Saturday 13 January, when Stourbridge were beaten in the last round of the Trophy, as we welcome Worthing to the AGP Arena this Tuesday.
Worthing recorded a 2-1 win against Wingate & Finchley on Saturday as Town were beating Tooting. Worthing’s win lifted them up to 21st place, three points ahead of Tooting who now occupy the bottom spot.
The Blues currently sit two points behind Dulwich Hamlet but with seven games in hand.
The Met Office have forecast rain during Monday afternoon but staying dry on Tuesday.
Worthing were formed during February 1886 and became founder members of West Sussex League 10 years later. They moved to their current home in 1901.
They became members of the Athenian League in 1963 and would join the Isthmian League in 1977. After two promotions they finished as runners-up in the Premier Division at the end of the 1984 and 1985 seasons, only to suffer relegation two years later.
Worthing have regularly competing in the F.A. Cup since the 1930’s, first reaching the first round during the 1936-37 season losing to Yeovil & Petters United 4-3.
Billericay Town and Worthing first met on Saturday 10 February 1979 in the fifth round of the F.A. Vase.
Jamie Reeves and Doug Young scored for The Blues as they won 2-1 in front of a crowd of 955. Town went on to lift the Vase for the third time that April.
Visiting fans travelling by train will find two taxi ranks outside the station. A Cab journey to the ground should cost around £5.00.
Alternatively, the High Street is a short walk from the train station and is home to several pubs, restaurants and cafés. The High Street is 10-15 minute walk from the ground.
For those driving to the match there is secure parking available for £5.00, or street parking is limited along Tye Common Road.

Anyone wishing to attend this match is asked to get to the ground early to purchase a ticket as money is not taken on the turnstiles any more.
Tickets can also be bought for the League Cup match against Barking. As this is not a league match season tickets cannot be accepted to gain entry.
The ‘Town Crier’, the official matchday magazine, is available inside the ground for £3.00.
50/50 tickets are available from inside the ground for £1.00. Half the money raised goes to the holder of the winning ticket, with the other half going to the club.
