New Lodge to host Oxford City

​Billericay Town welcome Oxford City to New Lodge this week, having be rearranged when the original fixture was postponed in December.

City last came to New Lodge on a wet 1st December 2018. Town went ahead through Jake Robinson, but Oxford equalised before the break, in ‘Billericay Time’. Just after the break they went ahead, directly from a corner.

With the match not even an hour old Oxford extended their league. A through ball found a striker who saw Alan Julian save his shot, but Town failed to deal with the rebound which was hit against the post and came out to another City player who found the back of the net.

Ross Lafayette pulled a goal back but the scoring ended in a 3-2 defeat.

Town and City first met on 12 August 1980, at Oxford’s White House Ground, in the Isthmian League First Division. Tony Wakefield scored as The Blues won the match 1-0.

This will be the twelfth meeting between the two sides. The Blues lead the way with 5 wins to The Hoops 4. Billericay have scored 19 goals to Oxford’s 20.
