Just to update you all with regard to Nigel’s funeral.

Having met with Nigel’s sister Jacqueline, who resides in France, this week, I am honoured to have been asked to help in regard to the organising the funeral from the Billericay side of things.

Firstly I am sure you would all like to know what caused Nigel’s sad and untimely death. The cause was ischemic heart which means the coronary arteries were narrowed due to cholesterol build up. He didn’t have a heart attack, his heart just stopped when hewas sleeping – a peaceful, albeit sad way to pass.

The date for the funeral will be Friday 26th January 2018 at 11.00am. This Friday slot will allow many of his friends to have an extended weekend and to celebrate his life without having to rush away after.

The funeral directors will be Adam & Greenwood, a Billericay company and will be supplying 5 members of staff, all of whom will be wearing Billericay Town FC club ties. In fact it will be a blue-themed funeral for all as its is a celebration of Nigels life and love for his local football team. So please bear this in mind by wearing your BTFC shirts or anything blue. We will also be having a club flag and Nigel’s BTFC scarf to adorn the coffin.

We will leave The AGP Arena on the day and cars will follow to Bentley Crematorium, Ongar Rd, Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood CM15 9RZ. Alternatively, please make your own way there. Following this, we return to The AGP Arena for the wake/celebration of Nigel.Nigel’s ashes will then be taken to Ireland to his mother. However we will be having some ashes to scatter around his beloved Billericay Town FC stadium.

Also Jacqueline has requested that instead of flowers, that we should give to charity instead. As the football club are currently raising for a few charites, a decision will be made by the club, myself and Jacqueline as to who will benefit from this. There will be collection boxes available for this on the day at the football club. The football club will be marking Nigel’s life with a permanent momento in the very near future.

On behalf of myself and the family, I would again like to thank you all for the kindness and love you have given through these last couple of difficult and emotionalweeks. Should you wish to contact myself over anything at all regarding this, please do so on 07940 322612.
