The club were saddened to hear of the passing of Paul Linger yesterday.

Paul played for the club between 1999 and 2001, scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-3 draw with Gravesend & Northfleet on the 11th of September 1999. He ended the season with 6 goals.

The following season Paul scored 16 times for the club.

Paul had started his career at Charlton Athletic followed by spells at Leyton Orient and Brighton & Hove Albion before moving in to non-league.

He spent the 1998-1999 season with Welling United before making the move to New Lodge. His spell with The Blues led to a move to Purfleet/Thurrock for 3 years and then a short trip to East Thurrock United.

He also represented Wingate & Finchley, Chelmsford City, Redbridge, Dover Athletic and London Lions.

The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Paul’s family at this difficult time.
