Trinidad & Tobago 2 Grenada 2
International Friendly. Saturday 11 November 2017.

During the week Blues attacker Ricky Modeste flew out to Grenada, a small Caribbean island between Trinidad & Tobago and St Vincent & The Grenadines, to join up with the Spice Boys; Grenada’s national football team.

The team made the short flight to Trinidad on Saturday for a friendly match with their neighbours, due to kick-off at 10:00pm our time.

Due to a reported issue with the flight the match didn’t actually start until an hour and a half after the scheduled start time.

The first half ended goalless but Oxford United’s Shandon Baptiste, making his second appearance for Grenada, opened the scoring in the 49th minute.

In the 72nd minute Ricky doubled the Grenadian’s lead.

The hosts pulled a goal back in the 89th minute then snatch the in from Grenada win the 92nd.

The two sides are due to meet again next month.

This appearance makes Ricky Modeste the first Billericay Town player to win an international cap. There have been several players to join the club after they’d been capped or left and been capped later (Paul Konchesky, Amara Simba, Bradley Woods-Garness) but Ricky is the first to be capped whilst still playing for the club.

His goal also makes him the first town player to score in an international match.

Congratulations Ricky!
