BILLERICAY TOWN 2 BRAINTREE TOWN 1
The 22nd meeting between Billericay Town and Braintree Town (W7 D4 L11) started positively as Connor Shields, on loan from Aldershot Town, scored 15 minutes in to his Blues debut.
Braintree started with former Blues Brendan Ocran and Steve Sheehan on the bench. Femi Akinwande and Ade Cole started for The Blues against their old club.
Prior to the match Billericay announced the departures of Reuben Collins and Brian Galach, who return to their parent clubs. Oran Jackson has also been released.
Harry Hudson and Themis Kefelas extended their stays with the club until the end of the season.
Shields’ goal was the only one of the first half as The Blues went in ahead at half time.
Liam Smyth equalised from a free-kick on the 67th minute.
As the match came to a close Dejon Noel-Williams, who had recently come off of the bench, was sent off having been judged to foul a player whilst jumping for the ball.
At the same time Braintree went down to ten men as they were forced to take a player off having already made three substitutions.
As the match was in added time Ronnie Henry smashed in his second goal of the season to put Billericay ahead.
