Ahead of tomorrow’s important league ‘derby’ with Chelmsford, BTFC would like to bring fans right up to date.
It has been a difficult couple of weeks for the entire country with the Covid news seemingly worsening all of the time.
As you know, we have had Covid cases in the camp that meant that this match had to be delayed from last week until this Saturday. Those first team players involved have completed their period of isolation and trained this morning. We do have a few new positive cases who haven’t been with the other players this week and are now isolating. As with every club, it’s a constantly changing situation and we are testing all of our first team players (both men and women) almost daily at the moment to try and make the right decisions. However, tomorrow’s game is currently going ahead and we will have a strong squad out their fighting for the 3 points.
To continue on the inevitable topic of Covid, we totally understand that people want to remain safe for Christmas. We have implemented all of the current regulations to help to ensure that New Lodge is a safe environment. We would love our fans to attend in good numbers to get behind the boys in what is a crucial game. However, please help each other to stay safe and also respect others concerns if they choose to wear masks or maintain a reasonable space. The main thing is to enjoy the game safely.
To end on a good, positive note, we have now completed the signing of a new goalkeeper for the remainder of this season. We would like to welcome Rhys Lovett who joins us from Maidenhead and goes straight in to the squad tomorrow. We are also pleased to announce that Josh Smile’s loan from Maidenhead has been extended for another month.
Come on you Blues !
