Statement from the Chairman
Firstly I hope those of you who attended the game on Tuesday night enjoyed a great game of football. The team are starting to come together now and after recent performances, they have been showing they are capable of results like this.
It has been frustrating for everyone connected to the club with the lack of games we have been able to play recently. As Greg mentioned in his recent update, we continue to do all we can to get the games on. With this in mind, we are continuing to explore the potential of installing the all-weather surface to the main pitch and also to introduce a full-size 4G pitch on the land we have behind the stadium. Things are progressing well and we will be looking to confirm the order with a specialist firm within the next two weeks with the intention of having both completed over the summer break. We continue on with bringing together this community and the many teams associated with the club and we feel that when these new facilities are introduced it will truly become a home for all in the community. This will also be an important step in making sure the club as a whole is sustainable in its day to day running and will enable us to fund future plans in making this a Community Club for all.
It has been great to see many more of the community coming to the club in recent weeks, and although the Ladies match was canceled at late notice last weekend, there was a great turnout from our supporters which is exactly what we are striving to achieve here. The replay will be this coming Sunday, 4:30pm ko at Aveley’s Parkside stadium and it would be good to see as many as possible to come along and support the Ladies in a very important match for the club. Kim and Greg continue to work closely on the improvement to the ladies’ teams at all levels and it is great to see how their hard work is being rewarded.
The Consortium are pushing on with the plans to introduce the U18 and U23 teams into the club. Rob Dowman, who recently joined the consortium, will be leading this working alongside Nick Hutt and we will update you on the progress being made at the Fan’s Forum.
I would personally like to thank Nick, Andy, Greg, Rob, and Alex for their continued support in delivering what we have set out to achieve and also all our loyal supporters, staff, players and management. Let’s keep pushing on and working together, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the fans forum on the 16th January at New Lodge.
