Billericay Town are delighted to announce the return of two former Blues players, Rob Swaine and Isaac Layne. Billericay Town are delighted to announce the return of two former Blues players, Rob Swaine and Isaac Layne.
Since leaving Billericay Rob has been club captain of Bromley, who he led to promotion to the National League last season. Swainey had previously captained Billericay Town to the Isthmian League, Premier Division title in 2012.
Craig Edwards was pleased to have spoken with Isaac and get a deal done for the former Blues player:
“I am delighted to announce that we have signed Isaac Layne on a contract. Isaac contacted me in the week saying that he wanted to come home and would we be interested. It took me a second to say ‘all day long’ I rang Glenn to ask him and once again he backed me.
Isaac was with us as an 18 year old and scoring for fun. He attracted several big professional clubs and we came close to agreeing a deal with Championship side Reading. However he signed for Southend before moving to the Scottish Premiership with Alloa Athletic playing against the likes of Celtic.
I’m thrilled to have him back and thank Glenn Tampling for not only making it happen but getting it done this weekend!! It’ll be touch and go though whether we get clearance in time for Tuesday’s game.
Welcome home mate.”
