“Craig Edwards will always be a part of the history of this club” says Owner/Caretaker Manager Glenn Tamplin “and will be remembered as a club legend.”
Craig resigned as manager on Thursday afternoon after 7 years as club manager, bringing success in the Essex Senior Cup and Isthmian League Premier Division, taking the club to it’s highest ever level in the modern pyramid system.
“Craig and I have spoken and agreed that we are still good friends but we couldn’t work together, it’s a clash of personalities.”
Glenn Tamplin will be taking the role of Caretaker Manager for the rest of the season, starting tomorrow at Harlow Town. He will be assisted by former Aveley manager Justin Gardner and has also brought in Anton Stephenson as coach.
“What Craig did for the club on a limited budget was immense, continually putting together competitive teams and safely guiding them to top half finishes. He deserves to be remembered with fondness by the fans who rightly think the World of him.”
“I often say that you can’t keep a good man down and that is the case with Craig. He will bounce back and he will be successful as he has always been.”
Everyone linked with the club would like to thank Craig for his work with Billericay Town Football Club, bringing success and promotion, and for just being Craig Edwards.”
