Welcome

A warm welcome to Billericay Town FC. We’re so glad you’ve found this supporters guide.

In it, you’ll find lots of useful information to help you have a great time when visiting us for a game at New Lodge. Whether you are a regular season ticket holder or visiting for the first time, we want you to fully enjoy your matchday experience.

Hopefully, you will enjoy the football but there is a lot more to the club than that. With some great places for fans to socialise and relax and some truly fantastic food and drink on offer, a day or evening at the stadium can be something the whole family will enjoy.

This guide will help you to make the most from your visit. There’s a lot of key information here, and we would recommend downloading the guide to a mobile device ahead of the visit.

But please ask one of our Here To Help volunteers for any assistance you need on the day. You can’t miss them, and they are there to make sure you enjoy your experience with us.

You might even get to meet Ricky the Racoon!

We look forward to seeing you at a game soon.

ABOUT US

We currently play in the National League South and have a rich
history that we’re really proud of.
Formed in 1880, and beginning in the Mid-Essex League, we’ve
had lots of success in the Essex Olympian League, Essex Senior
League, Athenian League and Isthmian League before winning
promotions to the National League (the sixth tier of men’s
football in England) in 2011, 2018, and then again in 2026.
We’ve reached the first round proper of the FA Cup on five
occasions, most recently in 2019/20 when we were beaten by
Forest Green Rovers.
But is is in the FA Vase where the club’s proudest moments were
achieved. Winning it for the first time in 1976 with a 1-0 win over
Stamford at Wembley, it was retained the following season in a
replay against Sheffield after a 1-1 draw at Wembley.
In 1979, we were back at the national stadium once more,
beating Almondsbury Queensway 4-1 with Doug Young
becoming the only player to score a hat-trick in an FA Vase final
at the old Wembley.
Check out the Wembley Wall at the stadium to find out more.

GETTING HERE

New Lodge is easy to find. Here are some details that cover all the various modes of transport.

Train

Regular Greater Anglia services run from London Liverpool Street to Billericay (1.3 miles away). There are usually three trains an hour and the journey takes around 30 minutes. Alternative services include Elizabeth Line trains to Shenfield (4 miles away) and C2C trains from Fenchurch Street to Basildon (5.5 miles away).

Bus

Local bus services serve the town and pass close to the stadium. The bus numbers are 300 (from Basildon), 9 (from Brentwood) and 251 (from Shenfield).

Bike

Cycle stands are available at the stadium. Motor cycles can be accommodated within the cycle stand area.

Plane

For those travelling from even further afield, the nearest airport is Stanstead (approx. 35 miles)

BY CAR

We strongly recommend fans take advantage of public transport, walking or cycling when travelling on a matchday.

This has much less of an environmental impact on the local area and can also be a more convenient alternative to get to the ground too.

However, we are easy to find if you’re driving here, but we ask that you be aware of the parking restrictions and be mindful of our neighbours.

You’ll find the club on your Sat Nav or Google Maps, but if you need it, the address for the stadium is:

Billericay Town Football Club (New Lodge) Blunts Wall Road Billericay, Essex

The post code for the stadium is CM12 9SA.

From the M25, we recommend using the A127 (J29) if travelling from the south and the A12 (J28) if travelling from the north.

A map of the local area is provided on the next page.

PARKING

Please note that car parking within the stadium site itself is extremely limited and, for this reason, will be available only for players and officials on match days.

The club retains a number of spaces for disabled drivers which can be booked by contacting us at info@billericaytownfc.co.uk

There are other parking options available nearby but please respect the local community when leaving your car.

Parking restrictions apply in many of the surrounding roads, but street parking is usually available in these areas on matchdays. We don’t want you to get caught out, so please check any signage and public notices for applicable restrictions.

We respectfully ask supporters not to park in Blunts Wall Road as vehicles have been removed from here due to obstructions caused for adjacent commercial land users.

Unless otherwise advised, no parking for spectators is provided in the adjacent cricket or tennis club.

BILLERICAY

If you live in or close to Billericay, you’ll know it is a historic market town in the Borough of Basildon, Essex, England.

But if you’re new to the area, or unfamiliar with the town, it’s well worth getting to know it.

Billericay lies 23 miles (37 km) east of the City of London and has a population of 34,075. Notable people who were born in the town, or live there, include Francis Bacon, comedian Lee Evans, singer Alison Moyet and several footballers, past and present.

If you can make time, the town centre is a great place to begin your day. Or a nice way to relax after a game.

As well as the high street, with its many Georgian buildings, there are two main parks: Lake Meadows and the Queen Elizabeth II Playing Field.

There are a large number of cafes, coffee shops and restaurants in the town centre, as well as a supermarket and several pubs, making it a lovely destination to spend some time ahead of the game.

We look forward to seeing you.

ACCESSIBILITY

The club retains a number of spaces for disabled drivers which can be booked by contacting us at info@billericaytownfc.co.uk

Wheelchair access is available to all parts of the ground other than the Town End terrace.

This terrace is accessible from the north-east corner by the clubhouse by shallow steps for those who minor mobility difficulties.

Seating for wheelchair users and their carers is located at the southern end of the main stand.

There are toilets located in three corners of the ground, as well as some with disabled access toilets in the main bar.

If you have any particular accessibility requirements that you would like to make us aware, please contact us at info@billericaytownfc.co.uk

ARRIVAL

All fans enter the stadium via Blunts Wall Road.

The turnstiles are located about two thirds of the way down on the right.

There, you’ll be met by Peter, our Official Greeter (it was just pure luck that it rhymed) , who can answer any questions and point you in the right direction just before you enter the stadium.

There may also be an appearance by Ricky The Racoon, the club’s mascot. He can be quite shy, but hugs and high fives from fans – especially the younger ones but he’s not fussy – help him to overcome his shyness. So if you see Ricky, please do say hello.

When required for safety and security, any bag searches will take place at the turnstiles. Where searches are to be conducted, you may be requested to open your own bag to allow it to be searched. Thank you for your understanding.

Please be aware that New Lodge is now a predominantly cashless stadium – including stadium entry and food and bar outlets. Cash can be taken at our programme and 50/50 hut (adjacent to the turnstiles).

IN THE GROUND

After entering via the turnstiles in the south east corner of the stadium, there is plenty to do and they are described on the next few pages.

These include information on where to find club merchandise and some fantastic food and drink options.

There are toilets located in three corners of the ground, as well as some with disabled access toilets in the main bar.

We’re a family club and we believe we are all part of the NonLeague football family and should therefore be able to enjoy the game in a relaxed atmosphere.

As a result, most matches at New Lodge will not be segregated.

Where segregation is required, away supporters will access the stadium through the turnstiles in the south west corner. For segregated matches, away supporters will be allocated both seating and terraced areas.

Please find a stadium plan on the next page that will help you to familiarise yourself. There are further plans at the turnstiles, and inside the stadium too.

FOOD & DRINK

Our primary food outlet is located in the south-west corner of the stadium. This offers an extremely wide range of hot and cold food to suit all tastes.

Watch out for pop-up food outlets on specific matchdays – these will be advertised for on our social media channels.

Hot drinks and confectionary are also available in the main clubhouse bar.

In addition to the clubhouse, bars can be found adjacent to the turnstiles at the southern end of the stadium.

All bars and outlets are open throughout the game. The consumption of alcohol is permitted around the ground during the match except at high profile cup games involving clubs from Step 1 and above.

The clubhouse is open from 12 noon on a Saturday and will show the live lunchtime kick-off game on TV, and will open around two hours before kick-off for midweek games.

Around the ground, all other outlets are usually open around 90 minutes before kick-off

MERCHANDISE
